After just over 10 years of having a permanent office at Fareham Innovation Centre at Daedalus, we’ve made a small change to the way Eldo works. We’ve gone virtual!
In reality, it’s not quite as dramatic as that sounds. Over those 10 years, the way we work with our clients has changed considerably. Most conversations now happen over email, phone or Teams, and it had reached the point where having a permanent office simply wasn’t necessary anymore. Rather than keeping an office for the sake of having one, we’ve decided to embrace the way we already work.
We’re not leaving Daedalus
Although we no longer have our own permanent office, Eldo is still based at Fareham Innovation Centre at Daedalus. We’ll continue to use the centre as our business and correspondence address, and we have access to its meeting rooms, Wardroom and breakout areas whenever we need to sit down with clients face-to-face.
So, if you’re an existing client, very little changes. You can still contact us in exactly the same ways, and if we need to meet in person, we can still meet at Daedalus.
A slightly different Eldo
Eldo has always been about doing things a little differently, and today that means offering something increasingly hard to find, a genuinely personal web design service, backed by years of experience, without all the layers that often come with a traditional agency.
When you work with Eldo, you deal directly with the person actually working on your website. There are no account managers to go through, no being passed from one department to another and no need to explain the same thing to three different people. We get to know our clients, their businesses and their websites, and that allows us to build long-standing relationships and provide a level of personal service we’re really proud of.
Being independent also gives us the freedom to be incredibly flexible. We can take on everything from a quick website update to a complete new website or a much larger project, without unnecessary processes or layers of management. It keeps things straightforward, responsive and focused on doing great work.
Going virtual feels like a natural extension of that. Less focus on maintaining a traditional agency setup and more focus on what actually matters, designing and building great websites, looking after our clients and generally making the web a slightly nicer place.
There’s no big relocation, no change of direction and no disappearing into a mysterious virtual office somewhere. It’s still Eldo, just now mostly run from a dedicated office at the bottom of the garden, with a considerably shorter commute and no danger of getting stuck in traffic. Daedalus is still there whenever we need a meeting room, a change of scenery or some actual human interaction. We think that suits us rather well.
