Pixel Perfect Website Designer Disease. It’s a horrible condition that means we can’t just half-ass something and send it out the door. Otherwise, this reaction called a ‘conscience’ flares up.
We could churn out a factory line of cheap template sites like some other companies and sit back and count the dosh. But we’re just not built that way.
The good news is that our horrific condition means you get a website and process that has clearly been thought through, checked, tested, looks as good as possible, and is made as dynamic and easy to edit as possible.
We would expect that kind of service if we paid good money for a website.
The Eldo Studio, Hampshire.
Just a short stroll from Lee-on-the-Solent beach, our studio is based at the Innovation Centre on the historic Daedalus airfield, Hampshire.
It’s a bright, modern space (alarmingly tidy, we know) with a comfy sofa and a big screen ready for project chats. If you’re really lucky, you’ll get to watch Spitfires take off too!
So, why Eldo?
I started Eldo over ten years ago because I was tired of how overcomplicated the web design world had become.
Working for a design agency at the time, I could see that people were being blinded with jargon, upsold things they didn’t need and left confused about what they were actually paying for.
So I thought, “Do you know what? Let’s do it properly.”
Be honest. Be approachable. Make websites people can actually use. Keep clients in the loop. Don’t disappear. Don’t treat people like numbers on a spreadsheet. Simple.
Since then, Eldo has grown slowly and sensibly. No investors, no ping pong table (we do have a very lovely office though), no trendy agency nonsense. Just consistent work, happy clients and a reputation for being reliable, friendly and human. Very human (we’re not really pixel people).
We’ve delivered over 500 websites for businesses of all shapes and sizes. Some small, some big, all important. We still use the same approach today that we did on day one. Listen first. Build second. Support always.
